Twelve Month Part-Time Opportunity

A part-time position is immediately available to join a team of consultants researching human behaviour for commercial clients and public policymakers.

Background

Decision Technology (Dectech) provides bespoke services to commercial clients based on the statistical modelling of customer data, field surveys or online experiments. We specialise in helping businesses and policymakers to understand and manage consumer decision making, drawing on quantitative disciplines such as experimental psychology, cognitive/behavioural science, statistics, economics and finance. Position

We are seeking a part-time analyst to work predominantly remotely and on a zero-hour basis with the expectation of up to 1-2 days of work each week, which could include:

• Reviewing existing academic research and distilling the relevant findings
• Conducting surveys/experiments, implementing field research or handling existing data
• Designing models, fitting them to data and reporting the practical implications
• Assisting with the formulation of our social media marketing strategies
• Executing these strategies and maintaining Dectech’s presence on various platforms

Our ideal candidate should be:

• Currently studying for a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Behavioural
 Science or a related discipline; postgraduate applicants are encouraged
• Passionate about human decision-making and knowledgeable on this topic
• Expertise in the following is desirable:
   − Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and R
   − Functional knowledge of standard statistical techniques e.g. factor/cluster analysis,
     regression
   − Experience of operating around LinkedIn
